Leonard Brown began providing tool and cutter grinding services from the garage of his Florida home in 1972.  Two years later, he moved his family to Slidell, Louisiana, and with his son, Kevin, opened a general machine shop under the name of Cut-Rite, Inc.  Over the years, services expanded to include precision machining, welding, and fabrication of all types of industrial tools..  Today, 29 years later, father and son are still directly involved in shop operations.  They deal directly with clients on a daily basis in order to ensure optimum service.

Cut-Rite, Inc. is a precision shop, employing six machinists with over 100 years combined experience.  Management knows our best asset is this qualified staff, ready to confidently answer all questions regarding routine and specialized work orders.  We are not a production line manufacturer; each job is quoted and worked on an individual basis.

We offer a wide variety of services.  Several types of heat treating are available, including flame, furnace and metalizing.  The blade sharpener can handle shear or knife blades up to 12 feet.  The Mattison Surface Grinder has a 14" x 48" magnet chuck capable of grinding parts up to approximately 20" x 52".  Landis or Cincinnati grinders can grind shafts up to 12" x 28" to various configurations.  Several types of visual comparators and other precision-testing equipment are utilized to assure all customers of complete quality control.

We realize that time constraints can be difficult.   However, with today's modern communication and shipping methods, we can quickly assist clients nationwide.  Drawings and instructions can be faxed to our office.   We can answer any questions or plan any product by e-mail or conference call.   Shipments, via UPS, arrive and depart on a daily basis.  Emergency situations are given top priority.  Whether it's a large order or just one tool, any job accepted is completed quickly and efficiently.  And, of course, complete customer satisfaction is always guaranteed.
